Dr Richard Nahas Examines Quick Masks That Reduce the Bags Under Your Eyes

Introduction

According to Dr Richard Nahas, as you grow older, maintain a healthy diet, work out regularly and follow a strict skincare routine, the area around your eyes usually shows the first signs of aging. Bags start forming under your eyes and take on a puffy appearance. Let’s check out quick masks that reduce the bags under your eyes.

The Masks

Coffee masks – Instead of just having a cup of coffee in the morning, try applying them under your eyes as well. You can create an easy and effective mask with the coffee grounds you usually throw away. A mixture of coffee grounds and the protein from an egg white can tighten your skin and make it firm. To make the mask, add two teaspoons of coffee grounds and an egg white to a bowl and beat the mixture with a fork till it turns frothy.

Next, wash your hands thoroughly and wear clean plastic gloves to apply the mask under and around your eyes. You can also use a brush to apply the mask. However, that needs extra care and dexterity since you don’t want any of it to go into your eyes. Let the mask sit for at least 10 minutes before cleaning it away with a soft and wet towel. Follow up with an eye cream to hydrate and moisturize the area.

Rose + Cucumber mask – You’ll often see pictures and movie scenes with people wearing sliced cucumbers over their eyes. That’s because cucumber is full of ascorbic acid and phytochemicals that help soothe and tighten the skin. Cucumbers can also reduce swelling on your skin and remove toxins from your body. However, placing slices of cucumber over closed eyelids is highly inefficient.

Instead, you can blend them into a mask for maximum surface coverage and would be able to hit even the corners of your eyes. To make this mask, blend half a cucumber with an ounce of rose water till it gets liquified and transfer it to a bowl. Next, cut clean cotton rounds into a half-moon shape and soak them in that mixture and squeeze out the excess before applying it to your eyes. Leave them on for at least 15 minutes.

Chamomile eye masks – This is the easiest mask since you can get it just by brewing refreshing chamomile tea. Simply steep two chamomile tea bags in hot water for at least three minutes and set them aside to cool down to room temperature. Till they cool down, you can enjoy the refreshing chamomile tea. After that, let the cool tea bags sit on your eyes and just relax for 15 minutes.

Conclusion

Dr. Richard Nahas suggests that you try out the above-mentioned masks and compare the results. With these DIY masks, you can get rid of the bags under your eyes without buying expensive skincare products. It’s also important to keep your skin hydrated and get plenty of sleep to reduce puffy eyes.
